Earth around the world varies widely in colour, texture, structure, smell and its physical and biological composition.
 

But soils are typically categorised into 12 major orders as shown in the World Soil Order diagrams below. Photographs of each earth sample highlight their unique colours and textures.
 

The pavilion’s architecture expresses these orders in its form - 12 radiating fingers turning around a spiral. Within each finger, a representative sample of earth in its raw form is celebrated. The pavilion itself is made from a mix of these soils, bringing them together as one.
